BUYING a Avon Supersport S400 4M for £696 in great condition

Im planning to buy a 1990's 4M long Avon supersport S400 next week made of Hypalon and just wanted to make sure it's a reasonable price.
It seems to be in great condition compared to most avon's i have looked at as the current owner said the guy he bought it off had stored it indoors for over 10+ years.

It comes with a launching trainer, pump,Foam floor , seat box, paddles and bow storage. Is there any disadvantages to something more modern like the weight i best know about ?

I already have a 3.1M Bark 310S and a 2.9M Wetline 290 SIB's and wanted something larger for coastal cruising and using in Scotland once and a while to go wild camping along the shorelines of Loch's and tidal rivers in england with my girlfriend.

IIWY I'd hurry along and buy that, without posting any links to the sale!

Unless of course, it was near me, in which case I'd be delighted to pop round and check it out for the OP.

Well seems it sold already... hope HKE got it.

Really solid boats approaching the build integrity of an RNLI model... 83kg is a fair weight so you need to be well organised to do a daily inflate on that but once on the water would be great fun.

I thought it was a good deal but with only 2 SIBS bought in the last 6 months so far i thought i would call on some experience.I have been talking to the guy for a week who is 65y and he was using it last week in south wales around Ramsey Island.

He's a nice guy and holding it for me.

Im just waiting for a mechanic to fit a towbar to my current vehicle then i will be heading off on a 2 hour drive to pick it up.

Thanks for the replies.

Do you have any idea if the launch trailer that comes with it or a set of transom wheels would be better to use with it?
I have a set of transom wheels on my bark SIB i could remove and fit those if there a better option.

I have never used a launch trailer before so have no expeirence with them.

Hey, did you buy the boat? I have (had????) the 4.0 Spitfire with the aluminum floor boards and it was my favorite boat. My problem is I am missing the very fron floor board (it is wooden). ANy chance you can sent me pictures of it and dimensions if possible?

Congratulations on the purchase.
I also just purchased 2 brand used smaller boats myself last night and excited to pick them up tomorrow

Maybe try using the launch trailer it comes with first, and see how that works out for you before dismantling your transom wheels.
