Looks a good, neat job.

Any particular reason why you choose to bond 4 sheets of 3/8th and not use a single sheet of 1 1/2" (38mm)

Thanks!

Few reasons:

1) Can't find marine ply (or any ply for that matter) thicker than 3/4" here (Canada, west coast).

2) Cost. You can't buy ply here smaller than a 4' x 8' sheet meaning I'd have a bunch left over if I bought 3/4" and I have limited storage. Also it's double the price for a 3/4 sheet.

3) The factory installed transom was also 4 sheets of 3/8 laminated together. The guy at the plywood store thought the original transom was just regular fir ply and not marine grade. So I figured it'd be plenty good enough especially if I upgraded to marine grade.

The boat is nearly 10 years old and these PVC boats, from what I read, have about a 10-15 year life span. So I figure of the first transom lasted about 9-10 years I should be good until then end of this boat's life.

Hope I'm right!

I am!

Chilliwack Lake, about a 1.5 hr drive from Vancouver. Really nice lake for boating and swimming.

It looks like a really nice place. May have to include that area into our travel itinerary for next year.
