convert remote to tiller steering?

Ok, so I think I have found a SIB, payed a deposit and should collect on Saturday, I thought I had found a decent motor, 9 HP Evinrude only used in freshwater on the Thames upper reaches, then he mentions that it is remote and not Tiller, if I can get it cheap enough can you convert them?

I have not seen it yet so have no specific details although I suspect it will be approx 10-15 years old and is a two stroke. Is it worth even considering?

Thanks in advance

Hi

To your question yes, price probably around £100 you would need the serial number to find out what year it is.Is it worth it,that's up to you. It's the right time of year to bag a bargain

Why not use the steering setup?

If I didn't need every bit of space in the boat for dive gear, I would prefer a remote steering setup as it is more comfortable to drive long distances.

How do you install a remote on an alu-deck? Especially fixating the remote steeringwheel in the boat?

There are a lot of options.

Adjustable seating platform with a Central Console for Inflatable Boats.

Didn't know you could do that! Very interesting but I only have a 3.2 mtr long SIB so a bit too much hassle I am afraid, but thank you for the idea.
