Drysuit/Dry Pants & Nikwax Tech Wash

Just packed my my Dry Pants ready for the weekend and they are starting to look like they could do with a wash, which I'll do when I get back. Has anyone used Nikwax Tech Wash? Was it ok? Did you then reproof the outer with Nikwax?

We use tech wash/Nikwax on our Paramo walking gear which is breathable. It works fine. I wouldn’t use it on a drysuit as it seems overkill. Assuming that they are non-breathable drysuit type material. I’ve had drysuits for 40 odd years & they’ve never had more than a hosing off with the hose pipe.

i just got my mrs to jetwash me in my peak storm dry pants no issues never treated them afterwards there over 5 years old now and have been jet washed at least 5 times with no after treatment and still bone dry. she does the same to get the fish scales and blood of my typhoon dry suit no issues

My kayaking drysuit is a D.U.I. Gortex suit, so I use Tech Wash and Nikwax to bring it back occasionally. Usually though I run a lot of clothes thru the washing machine that need water proofing, by not allowing it to drain, and just resetting the wash cycle. Front loads don't work for doing that though, only old school, like laundry mats still use I believe.

Fairy liquid outside scrubing brush hose off diluted disinfectant inside rinse out and dry

And here's me thinking I'd preserve the integrity of my kayaking dry pants, then I find that all's I need to do is use Fairy liquid, disinfectant and a Jetwash

Fairy is ok for non breathable stuff like “proper” drysuits, but it’ll ruin the waterproofing of breathable stuff like Goretex & such like.

I use Techwash and Nikwax on all my walking and climbing gear. Just thought I'd ask if there was any special way to clean/wash drysuits.

Yea ment proper dry suits never used breathable stuff or considered it having to waterproof it seems to be a bit risky for me if long periods in water might happen OMO though.
