Try using the (very useful) search function. It’s a common subject.

When I had a smaller 4.2m SIB I preferred to carry onboard a manual pump. Less weight, and not needing a battery connection are a good thing (I did have a Hawker Odyssey for a battery with proper connections), along with not worrying about keeping an electric pump dry on a small boat. Now with a larger RIB I do use an electric that connects to my battery. Mine is a very loud, made in China, 2 stage generic pump often sold as a SUP pump. Bravo pumps are about the same DB, and seem to work about the same, but I am sure quality is better.

So one of the challenges is are you filling with air at the ramp or just topping up? Seem to remember you are going to be setting up at the ramp. If filling at the ramp using something like a leaf blower or a 12 volt Bravo type pump are nice to have. If using a small leaf type blower a manual pump can top it up quickly.

One of the most important things is to purchase a pressure gauge (Most electric pumps have gauges built in) for the low pressures we fill to. You might be surprised how firm the tubes and floor get.

This is a USA website but they are a white water rafting company that offers a nice selection of gear.

You can search out "Electric SUP Air Pump" Below is a generic type SUP pump that can be found in multiple different colors. I wouldn't count on it as a primary pump and would at least carry a manual pump in the vehicle.

If you're not interested, there's really no need for a negative comment.

I for one am interested in what people have tried recently, since joining, this forum seems a tad slow, so a new post is not a bad thing.

I bought one of these in the end: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

On a whole, it's a decent pump. No need to lug an extra battery around, a single charge pumps up my old HonWave 3.8 no problem, and deflates it at the end of the day with battery left to spare.

The only slight issue i have with it is that it doesn't allow you to dial in an exact pressure. It has set increments which either slightly under inflate or over inflate the boat.

Trust me, if I wasn’t interested, I wouldn’t have gone to the trouble of pointing the OP in the direction of the wealth of knowledge that resides on the forum.

Ps, have we met before? You sound familiar….

Wow, that's some post No.1 from a new member, nothing like endearing yourself to a new group.

Can I suggest you try not to be such a Pr**k, and you'll get a better welcome.

Hi Gav, thought you had a T38? Not being picky but a T38 is a Sib not Rib.

I've got a Sevylor 12v pump and a Bravo BTB12. Use both but tend to finish off the final pressure with the Sevylor as it has a digital manometer which I've check and it's very accurate, and it's much quieter than the Bravo. I carry a manual pump when I'm out on the water.
Can't comment about a pump with an internal battery as I've never had one but, can the battery be replaced if it fails?

Most any thing with a battery can have new battery cells put in, from cell phones, flashlights, tool, toys, to most anything else. They probably use something like an 18650 cell which are super common. Only thing is they are often spot welded and might require soldering skills. People throw perfectly good electronics away instead of fixing them these days.

You never know. It’s been a while & he’s probably overdue for another attempt.
