Apologies all for my double Post. When I made the first post I took a phone call walked away from my puter and when I came back later I saw the text and thought I had not clicked submit so I clicked it again.

As I say apologies for that.

I hope your Elling soon turns up and we can hear how you get on with it

Don't think so. I believe every new Elling in the UK was sold last year and we are all waiting on the delivery held up in the Ukraine. If I see a picture in the paper of Putin skidding down the Moskva in my boat I'm going to be well fed up.

Boatworld are the only suppliers in the U.K. I tried getting one from other countries but no one will supply.

I don't want to sound like the Profit of Doom but this is not sounding at all good. So many other products seem to be in short supply as well. When is the latest date you have been told these will be delivered

There is no latest time. Until they find if they can be sneaked out by local carrier to an interim city away from Russia... in fact until they find out this has actually happened and they are transferred to the planned UK destination carrier... then any date is just a guess. I am making light of it but the situation is damn serious for Ukraine and beyond well above whether I get my SIB or not.

I'm lucky the changes I've already made to my outfit to lighten and simplify have made it totally manageable for now without the change to Elling but I still want one to further ease my situation going forward.

Feel a bit gutted for Tel and others with no SIB at the moment though who were relying on the Elling to get on the water.

For the others who have no boat there is the other option I suggested. But not sure if they could get their money back or even if they want to

Gutted for you guys the Elling’s are delayed, hope they land soon.

Fail to see why you think the T38 is a viable option. It’s bigger, heavier, considerably draggier and needs substantially more hp, and perhaps more salient it ain’t no cat/tunnel hull. Options to an Elling are more likely to be from Takacat or TrueKit, and at the cheaper end from 3D Tenders, Saturn or bargain basement Aqua Marina.

Ha my fingers are doing the Googling this very moment. Always good to be prepared.

But the T38 seems to be available and at a very good Price. I would not want to miss a season for the sake of £1,230 which is the price of the new T38.

I looked at the takacat a while ago, loved the lightness of it but not so sure about the open front on our seas. The Elling is the one I’m still wanting for this country, and if the wife enjoys it then I was going to buy a takacat for when we are on the lake in the Philippines. Because it’s so light and folds quite small I can fit it in a one of the boxes that we send to the Philippines. For now, I’m still holding out and praying for the Elling to arrive soon.

Agreed. I looked at all the cat type efficient hull alternatives and I can't see one that would suit our use as well as the Elling. So wait we must.

For clarity, assuming you guys are aware both Takacat and TrueKit also have closed bow versions still with the tunnel hull.

Yep did see that thanks but a combination of availability, price and other features of those two make them less attractive for our needs (similarly Frib) so the Elling is still the leading choice for now. I am geared up in anticipation for its arrival but I reckon if it really kicks off over there and this batch never arrive I'll probably wait and see if things settle down to get one for the 2022 season... and just enjoy the test mule combo this year.

Just checked and Boatworld have replaced the Elling expected delivery date with "This product is currently out of stock." with no anticipated delivery date now.

That change in website statement was a bit unnerving but just chatted to them this am re my order and the situation is that they have sold such a percentage of this delayed delivery on pre order they've decided to mark them as out of stock for now.

The good news is that there may be some movement of our shipment... to be confirmed soon.

Further email today confirming the shipment has moved from the factory with an early May expected date in UK.

I am grateful to the local transport company (believed shown in image below) who agreed to move the shipment from the conflict zone to an acceptable collection point for the main carrier.

Well it seems dobbininski and his fellow steeds have done the trick... the shipment is starting its conventional journey heading for Dover with a good possibility they will start their UK leg to individual buyers on 5th May.
