Sorry Tel
I think I lead you down this path by asking the question. I was genuinely interested where you was getting it from.

No worries Steve. I’m not bothered by all the fuss over nothing. What does bother me though is if people think I’ve done something illegal when I haven’t. I know for a fact that the dealer I’m getting it from would not supply it if it was illegal to do so. As they have a very good reputation.
I’m just sorry that’s it taken the shine from what is otherwise a very good thread by fenlander.

I'm sure it won't take the shine off getting his new KB350.
Any news David on when it lands?

We are 10 days into the 14 day period when it could have arrived in the UK. I will chase next week but I'm realistic it may be a month or so behind if there are import delays.
If that rusty Mercedes Sprinter running it up from the Ukraine gets stopped for using red diesel part way across Europe it may never be seen.

I have no problem with them using red diesel if it gets the Elling here... can imagine our driveway cam alert and the mic picking up a grunted " Ось це мате" as it's fired out the back of the Sprinter doing a swing round the cul-de-sac.

I remember an old school mate of mine was doing quite well for himself working on the jcb’s some years ago. He saved up, bought himself an Isuzu 4 wheel drive diesel brand new. And because he could get red diesel, that’s what he used.. a few months later someone grassed him up and it was confiscated. His choice was pay the fine or he lost the car. He lost the car because the fine was more than what it was worth.
“ it is the character of very few men to honour without envy a friend who has prospered “
And NO, it wasn’t me who grassed him. We never found out who it was that did.
Personally I’ve never been jealous of anyone. I say good luck to them and hope what they have makes them happy. I’ve always wanted a luxury yacht, but I don’t think ill of those who have one just because I’ll never get one.

Just a thought. But if anyone wants to swap their luxury super yacht for a brand new Elling. Please pm me

Could turn out it's easier to source a super yacht.

It’s much easier, I often look at them and the choice is just amazing. Just a pity I’ll never have one. Maybe in my next life I’ll be much richer.

Elling KB350
I have just seen this. Really pleased that you have decided on the Elling Fen, when matched with the 9.8 it really does make a very versatile and useable outfit.
Like the rest, we have been pretty much stymied with regards to travel but I do feel that things are improving fast. I am really hoping that we can have our holiday on Iona a bit later in the year when the Elling will get some proper use!
I am sure we will all be comparing notes later in 2021!

Must admit your post purchase enthusiasm and sunny family video added greatly to the feel that an Elling might suit. Just have to be patient for as long as it takes to arrive.

Are you going to be using the Boat and outboard for commercial use. If not then I suspect it is illegal use.

Not putting the knife in at all just saying it like it is. I note one of your earlier posts said 'that you are a by the book kind of guy' well Perhaps you will answer this question (but I suspect not):
Do you think the way this new 2 stroke has been bought is by the book ?
And if so do you think that is condoning wrong doing ?

And maybe friends tell their friends the truth so that they maybe avoid a fine or other penalty rather than pussy footing around them allowing them to think they have done the right thing.
I suspect you all know that this outboard has been bought against the law but are just too timid to say so.
