Hi Jasierock, where is "Up Northi'sh", and do you get out on Ullswater much?
Be good to see a KB350 in the flesh, and I think Fenlander is a bit to far away to bump into

>>> think Fenlander is a bit to far away
My East Anglia location is quite broad... we're actually only 5mins in the car from Northamptonshire. Mostly found hanging about near the A1(M) so pre/post Covid an easy call in for those on the Eastern side North/South transit.

Sadly SR when you get on one folks often can't really be bothered.

What is also sad is that he was the very first person to say to me to get a 9.8 2 stroke. A new one if I could. Then gets on a high horse when I do exactly what he advised me to do. Only got to read my very first thread to see that.

Sorry you asked elsewhere... only this moment am I going to look where Boatworld are located.
...right just checked... Chesterfield.
That's a 4hr round trip for us so in the anticipation it will arrive before lockdown is released for non-local journeys I'd rather have it delivered.... think they said about £60??

Well SR Tel's memory might shift you off your high horse position. You did indeed tell him back in October...
***In my view it is 2 stroke all the way still. If you can get a new one a 9.8 tohatsu would be ideal***

I rest my case.... you are just mischief making.

A great engine choice and I wouldn’t worry about getting a new one, there are plenty around and easy to buy. Plus 1 vote for quicksilver oil.

Thank you for the back up gentlemen.
I guess a 4 hour round trip is a bit much to do. I think it’s just over an hour for me to get there, so I’d prefer to collect it. Covid permitting

If the Tohatsu 9.8hp 2 stroke is readily available and easy to buy I'd like to know where Ferryman.....?
At the tail end of last year after 2 unsuccessful months of trying to source 1, (preferably new) I gave up.
I ended up buying a new Tohatsu 9.8hp 4 stroke instead.
Its a cracking engine but I'd have preferred the lighter 2 stroke variant.

Any idea if the "wet" weight of the Tohatsu 9.8hp 4 stroke?

I just have this thing in my mind someone somewhere posted they weighed their efi 20hp 4-stroke and found it 2-3kg over dry weight.
So I'd guess the wet weight of the 4-stroke 9.8 might be at least data plate + 1kg... min 39kg??

Just look online, you have to bend the rules but I don’t think the emissions from a 9.8hp outboard are going to kill the planet!

So in simple terms you have obtained a new 2 stroke illegally and now everyone knows........cos you told them............. Priceless

Nah! he'll be along shortly to qualify his volte-face with his usual playground logic.

Troll or not, it’s not for me to cast judgement. FairPlay to the guy, he gave me some great advice.

So still a reasonable weight. Food for thought when my lump gets too heavy to lift from the truck, that's if I can't find one of those illegal things to buy!!!!
