Elling KB350 near sold out

If any members were considering an Elling as maybe a Christmas present to themselves, you need to be quick.
I have been keeping an eye on stock levels since the last batch arrived at Boatworld and they would seem to be down to the last 2 boats now.

Unlikely. Easy to debunk if the prop pitch is known.

Edit: must be bored. Std 10" pitch prop allows 24mph/21kn before the rev limiter stops it.

I tend to think in kts so he says he fitted a new prop that took him from 23kts to 25kts. It doesn't seem too far out given that's an efficient hull particularly one up. Those 15/20hp motors came out of the factory fitted with 10/11/12" props at random so his start point could have been an 11". Also the slip figure you build in would likely be much less with an easily driven lightly laden hull?

In any case his asking is not too far out so with a bit of a deal and given the difficulty of getting hold of sibs/OBs this year it should suit someone.

Please don't take this as trying to win an argument, see attachment taken from the Suzuki manual. 9" pitch is nearer the mark.

Prop for 15hp is likely 7/8/9
Prop for 20hp likely 9/10/11

Max theoretical speed (0% slip) for DF15a
7" = 16.6kn/19.1mph
8" = 19.0kn/21.8mph
9" = 21.4kn/24.6mph
10" = 23.7kn/27.3mph

Max theoretical speed (0% slip) for DF20a
9" = 22.4kn/25.8mph
10" = 24.9kn/28.7mph
11" = 27.4kn/31.5mph
12" = 29.9kn/34.4mph

We can knock a couple of knots off the above figures to approximate slip.

Too late now, the batch is all sold. So it will be Spring before they are again available.
