Quick opinion...
Honwave T38 - £1150 - Potential build issues on floor, some folks experience floor wobble and prop ventilation.
Excel Volaire - £1279 - Reports sound good but still not a huge amount of feedback, quite heavy for an air floor.
Excel Vanguard - £1159 Alloy floor model so heavy and harder to set up. Should perform without floor/ventilation issues.
The Elling at £1395 is the most expensive - Sounds interesting but still only a small amount of user feedback particularly on difficult sea states.

With regard to motor size on a KB350 my feeling is the sweet spot motor for these small cat style boats will be one of the 37kg 9.9hp four strokes.
Agree the 43-44kg 15hp motors are good value weight wise and ‘just in’ transom limits but unless you really need the extra power/torque, then these very efficient light weight cat hulls can really zip along with 10 horses.
Have to admit, not got a KB350 although have examined close up at the dealers/shows, but have piloted similar sized Takacat’s with 10hp motors.
As an aside, anyone considering a new T38, please be aware the jungle drums indicate there is a new model due imminently. Not confirmed but rumoured those pesky trim tabs have been dropped.

My Elling flys along with a 9.8 on it. Been out on some pretty big seas and it handles like a good'un.

Such a minefield Fenlander but really happy with all the info and help on here.
I saw a post earlier that mentioned the poor build quality of the Yam Sibs and After making some enquiries this seems to be the case. Boats leaving the factory with build/glue issues etc. In the absence of a very nice used Aerotec turning up I am swaying towards the Volaire or the Elling right now.

Remember the Elling is primarily built for fishing. If you are buying a boat for other reasons then the Honwave might be a better bet. I would have bought a Honwave when I was looking but the rear tabs and weight put me off.

I have my Elling over here in Spain, it is permanently on a trailer in the hot weather 30 centigrade kept in a shady place when on the drive, it has not lost any pressure if anything because of the hot weather I let air out of the tubes to compensate expansion.
I use mine as a all rounder with the Borika mount its great for fishing and with the 2 seats it is also good to use with family, as seen on the photos I have posted one of them with the Bimini top up.
With 9.8 shoots along with no problem and as I said a all rounder, I am very pleased with mine and would Recommend it.

I think I would rather try rowing than carry an extra electric outboard and a heavyweight leisure battery on every trip, better off with an old Seagull 40 plus for power to weight ratio
I have a new 55lb thrust electric trolling motor, I really must test it one day but i'm fairly sure the seagull would win.

I have absolutely no idea! I only do calm sunny days with no threat of North or East winds, so winkling one of those out with suitable tides might be difficult now we seem to have finished with summer.

I have joined the exclusive 'Elling Owners Club' this afternoon. I can't wait to collect and unpack the boat tomorrow. I have a Tohatsu 9.8 Smoker to put on it so it should go quite nicely. It was the hull that finally swayed me!

Glad to hear you bit the bullet, get an electric pump if you dont have one now to make inflation effortless.
Enjoy your purchase.

Thank you all. I will hopefully be inflating it (indoors of course) tomorrow so I will post a photo.
Which electric pump is recommended Oldman and what are the pressures in the Elling Oldman?

I like many bought a Bravo BTP12 twin pump and a 12v 7Ah battery to run it from. Others favour the lower cost Sevylor 12v pump.
Pump up pressures are all tubes 3psi. Floor 10psi and keel 3psi.
Semi inflate the 3 tubes, fit the floor and inflate, then fit the seats and fully inflate the tubes. Now lastly inflate the keel.
Sit in and row around the living room

I have the lower cost Sevylor 12v pump I pleased with that is connected to a cigurete lighter, during the lock down I made myself a battery box with a 12v 9amp battery so can also be used when not near the car.
