Have to declare opinion gathered from reading loads of posts rather than on water experience...

Very expensive... efficient hulls so fast for any given outboard size... can be bone jarring in a chop as fairly shallow V hull... quick to setup... don't pack quite as tight as a SIB for car transport... great to have as an option for those that they suit.

Thanks. I thought they would be better than air deck.
Anyone else?

Mine is a F-Rib360 with an 6HP Yamaha.

Very easy to maneuver, and excellent behavior in medium rough seas.

Not cheap once it has a rigid hull, and only needs less than 10mn (around 8mn) to be fully inflated, if we used an electric pump and the Leafield valve adapter with internal spring with the hose.

Hi nick I have a 360 and I would pretty much agree with what fenlander said.
I quite like mine,it really is rapid when its flat calm and its easy to pull up a beach with wheels on. But it takes up more room in the boot than my t40 which is a much bigger sib.
It really does slam when its choppy. It is the small ish waves when I find it a bit annoying actually, because say on my honwave sib I can still plane in small waves, whereas on the frib it is down to displacement speed because it is too uncomfortbale - if the waves are bigger i would be at displacement speed in either boat.
If I was buying again I think I would give the t38 a try, especially given it is nearly 2k cheaper. I nearly went for a t38 but the inflatable tabs really put me off the honwave.

I'm really puzzled which SIB and motor to buy and I ruled out the F-Rib on cost and size. Excel Vanguard/Volaire both sound great. Honwave T38/40 2 different SIBs but both get great reviews apart from the build quality. And lastly the Elling KB350 which owners seem to love.. Then is it 15 or 20HP? Yamaha, Tohatsu, Honda, Merc or Mariner. Orca and Parsun ... never heard of them!
I can trail the boat so no worries there. It wont get a ton of use but I would feel lost without a boat as Ive had one for years. I feel like a right ditherer which I've never been previously.
Truth is, probably any of the above combinations will probably be just fine for what I need.
Any advice gratefully received. ( I have read Max's Which SIB post more times than I care to remember)

How many people do you reckon will typically be in the boat? Where will you normally be using it and what for?

generally 2 people but up to 4 occaisionally. Exploring, bit of light fishing and just seeing the land from a different aspect. Inshore, estuaries, lakes etc.
