my favourite is Lake Windermere, beautiful scenery, plenty to do fishing, kids knee boarding, fresh water so no need to flush engine, fishing, snokelling etc
negatives; need to register boat but only £15 for year, also 10mph speed limit but that didnt bother me.
also lyme regis fishing, portland harbour

We all love our own bits , but for me Christchurch is great. Freshwater river, beach inside the harbour, and real 'sea' with no speed limits just outside !
and a choice of Cafe, pubs, resteaurant literally on the river/ beach...
and free to launch

Mayors mead car park - I think its called that - next to Christchurch rowing club .
Slips free and just need to pay for parking.
Am sure its on Boatlaunch.
