Hi all
Was having a look at the o/b to see if it had a stator fitted to charge a battery and found that there is some kind of stator fitted, but not sure if its the right stator and if I have the correct wiring.
Cheers kevin

The 20hp needs a £100ish kit to produce the charging output and I think Jeff had to buy one for his 25hp but hopefully he'll be along soon to say.
I haven't bothered as we are mainly daily setup folks and it's yet another wire to faff with.

Fenlander is right it was an extra £106 for mine but check with Suzuki for your model some motors had ignition and charging coils not sure if the manual tells or not I have a service manual which tells all. Might be worth considering two batteries at £20 apiece one on charge one in use or carry both

Hi
Looking at the service. Manual it is an optional extra that mine doesnt have after poking around the rectifier is not there nor the fuses. So of hunting ebay to find it, jeff did you have to buy a new stator with the rectifier board wired to it or just a rectifier board?
Cheers kevin

Just a rectifier kit mate all plug in apart from the battery connections you have to make, half hour job, I think you can see the kit for a DT on the Suzuki web site failing that drop them a mail mind I did find them pi55 poor at getting back to me in a hurry.
Just make sure your connections are staggered so they can never shout out.

of course as max says mine is probably an over the top example and could be made much simpler by just mounting everything on a seat/ in a peli case etc.
only my opinion and it's down to budget this would be my choice or similar

That's a fantastic set up, if you could make it so it was disconnect 1/2 leads and then lift off that would be very very marketable keep all the valuable and nickable stuff together in a water tight enclosure that you can store in the house or car easily would be fantastic....

Just ring local Suzuki marine dealers and gibpve the the part number they should, be able to look the price up direct on the dealer portal (that's how it works with Yamaha ) and it just gets out on next parts order

as it stands its disconnect battery leads & transducer undo 4 bolts on the splash rail and lift off, further strip down is the 3 bolts inside the dash that holds it to the base plate

Hi all
Been busy recently building a trailer for the sib which is collapsible, so I can take it on holiday with the caravan. Also I have moved the fuel tank and battery box to the front on the boat, the battery box has a aux socket fitted and with also have a fish finder mounted onto it and I put a box at the back for safety gear, still have to put clamps down the side to put the fuel hose down to each them out of the way. I have also fitted the tachometer to the outboard and set it to 1 stroke 2 cylinder and also changed the trim to hole 3.
Going to loch Lomond on Saturday to see how it handles.
I saw there is a gathering and oban on the 22nd july but I am working that weekend, and it would of been nice to see you guys in the flesh.
Cheers kevin

The axle of the trailer comes off and wheels which goes inside the caravan and the long beam goes under the caravan and clamps onto the caravan chassis with brackets I made. Its coming together for the weekend.
Cheers kevin

Hi all
Was out on loch lomond today and the boat was handing quite well and felt a lot more solid apart from flexing going over wave slightly sideways, so moving the fuel to the front and adjusting the trim has worked, the tachometer was reading 4880rpm(if setup right) full throttle at about 25 knots on semi flat water. So maybe changing the prop will give me a bit more push.
Thank you for the help
Cheers kevin

Kevin if you are still running that 13" pitch with the nick out of one blade then I'd say your results confirm reducing to an 11" which Jeff advised will get it close to perfect. 12" might just do it because 1" on OBs up to 25hp makes more difference to the feel than paper figures would indicate.
But I'd go 11" as a pitch that will certainly work.
Your top speed will be about the same at slightly higher revs and the outfit will feel more responsive.

Yes I was using the 13" prop and used less than a quarter tank of fuel for 5 hours on the loch [emoji106] . Was think getting the 12" but if the 11" prop would better then I will get that in stead.
Almost getting there
Cheers kevin

The thing is 12" might just do it but 11" would for sure... and if you're spending £60-£100 on a prop and bought the 12" I'd hate to hear it was just nearly right.
