First trip out in Aerotec 380

Launched at The Cottage public slipway in Bristol.

Great help from the kids cleaning and drying all the kit!

Looks fun, how was it with the 8hp on it?
How much does it weigh?

The boat came with the engine when I bought it. Very smooth little engine, it weighs 35kgs so easily manageable.

The kids were near the end of the 'happy period' so didn't get to open it up. I think it'll just plane and not much more.

I was after the Twatsoo 25 that Peter has for sale, we'll see if that comes off.

Will be keeping this Yammie as a pottering engine, its just so smooth and almost silent.

As my 6 year old said as she throttled back "daddy its stopped" ! Just so quiet on tick over

Always good to see a family involved in boating. They grow up too soon, so enjoy your time together.

Hi camelgas,

If you come along the Cumberland Road, with SS Great Britain on your right, The Cottage is 300-400 yds further along on the right.

There is a free car park, or if full on street car parking.

It cost £6.40 for a 24 hour pass on the water. You need to add £0.45 to this if you don't have your own insurance.

The slip is very slippy underfoot!

Got to say I always wondered what all the fuss was about around the Aerotec 380. Safe to say, I completely get it! The ease of use, the lack of weight, the quality of all the fittings - very pleased.
