Fitting a jockey console

Hi all

I currently have a Pheonix inflatable 3.6 meters.

I am looking at fitting the boat with a jockey console and remote steering system.

The boat has a 12mm plywood floor and I am currently in the stages on getting a new engine which supports remote steering and tilt /trim.

I am wondering if anyone has any general advice relating to such a project and any buying advice would be appreciated. The outboard is medium (standard shaft).

Thank you for your help

What benefits do you see wheel steering have over a tiller in a 3.6m boat?

remote steering

you can find a 10 to 1 margin in outboard motor selections in remote
a 40-60-hp outboard with tiller steering is very expensive compared to the remote just because there isnt that many to choose from
thats the biggest advantage

Holy grave dig Batman!

How many 3.6m SIBs are fitted with 40-60hp outboards?

I thought that too! However, it's still not easy (over here) finding a 2nd hand 20-25hp outboard with a tiller.
