restoring paintwork

If it's painted then rubbing down the affected areas and preparing them carefully by feathering in the edges of each patch would be the key.Repaint with non slip deck paint in the colour of your choice.International paints do a good range of colours so probably will have one to match. If your boards are too bad then a full strip back to bare wood with nitromors would be the best bet, followed by several coats of primer, undercoat and topcoat.Add a non slip medium such as sand or propriatary additive to the final top coat to finish off.Small tubs of non slip additive grains are to be had in most chandlers and contain usually enough material for the job in hand.Basically, just take your time and keep everything clean and you'll get good results.Hope this helps a bit,Chris.
