don't let it spoil your day PD, I have it on good authority that the patrol boat was no where to be seen on bank holiday monday, so I think you'll be safe for the odd visit here if you're planning a trip here let me know and I'll update you on progress, or lack of!! the harbour office is closed weekends so you couldn't get a registration anyway, so all I guess the patrol boat would do is pass you a form and ask you to register for next time

So, would a visiting cruiser overnighting in the harbour have to register & pay?
What are the harbour trust limits?
Does it only apply to public slips or does TyCalch get caught in the net too?
Bloody bureaucrats

no idea about a visiting cruiser, I would guess most are reasonably local so already registered with Gwynedd County Council etc

the harbour trust limits are from Caernarfon Bay, probably the fairway buoy, to Menai Bridge, at the moment the speed limit applies from this side of Port Dinorwic to just past Plas Menai

Chris at Ty Calch is asking his customers to register, I guess it's in his interests to stay on board with the harbour trust, no point in rocking the boat, bureaucrats have a lot more time to waste than a local business!!

I guess the old speed limit was always going to be extended at some point, and I can see why they have done what they have, but if the patrol boat isn't out on a bank holiday weekend with spring tides around midday'ish then I don't really see what the point is. those of us who will stick to the speed limits don't need to be registered to follow the rules, those that won't stick to them will just flash past us knowing they have saved £35
