Hey

Does anyone know of any good quality gloves for use on RIBs/SIBs. I'm thinking of the kind made of wetsuit material that have good dexterity.

Aldi - go there now!

Admittedly in "fishing green" but with finger tips that can be velcroed back so a touch screen can be operated. Cheapish too.

Neoprene gloves from Decathlon excellent. Used the green Aldi fishing gloves and they fell apart after a season.

Get a decent pair of neoprene gloves forget the sealskinz there rubbish might as well use apair of marigolds

The blue heavyweight rubber gloves that fishermen use are good, and cheap as chips. Wear them with a thin inner glove when it's really cold.

Sealskinz are expensive rubbish. They leaked water and had no grip, however they did stop my hands from getting chilled, even when wet.

Just get some neoprene sailing gloves with sewn in leather pads for grip.

The heavy weight winter seal skinz are warm enough, BUT are impossible to put on if your hands are wet, which is a bit of a problem with a "boating" glove. I've tried diving gloves & the thin 3mm are ok. The 6mm are too restrictive.

Jonny & I have the 3mm neoprene works fine with us , also take a pair of old ski gloves if it gets cold.
Have used sealskinz in the past but found they are not as waterproof as they say
Even the horsey brigade don't rate sealskinz for the same reason.

I've spent a fortune on Gloves trying all the best Technical Musto's Neoprene Dive gloves ect..for winter RIBing..but if it's really wet and cold they all have a Time Limit before they get water logged and cold.
The best I've come up with is using ultra thin woollen under gloves which hold the heat even when damp/wet and do make a Big difference!..and just take a few extra Pairs of Gloves...and change em when needed! Buying the best Quality Hats and PROPER BOATING Boots are also worth paying extra for too!! once yer hands and tootsies get cold it's bloody miserable!..and can have safety implications.
