Go fly a kite

This is a really great video, am building a rig to use on my mothership (34 foot offshore ketch), would also work at slow speed with the sib..

SUperb, truly excellent, you really couldnt get shots like this without a helicoptor !
Am using a simple wifi miniature cam for the first test, looking to build a delta design kite (check out http://www.deltas.freeserve.co.uk/home.html )
Dan's kites are superb, so are his design, you can build your own too from his specs.

A bit off topic I know, but what a way to get some superb shots.

I've done similar with a small Zeppelin shaped weather balloon, a prosumer camera hooked up to a DIY giro scope a friend put together. Never used it at sea but did some group shots with it. It was far to time consuming though and expensive.
There's a company who produce them now. I'll have a look and see if I can find you a link.

Build a really big kite...

... and add one of these things: http://www.wescam.com/products/products_services_1.asp

I was getting sea-sick watching those vids, but they are kinda cool.

The Wescam things are manufactured not far from here... I can pick one up if you send me your VISA number!

I would need to send you more than my bank account for one of those, might as well just get a UAV lol.
Thinks me will stick with the 12 quid wifi camera / receiver...
