honwave launch wheel problem (fitting)

Morning All,

I seem to have a problem !

while working out the placement of the launch wheels on my Honwave (with Honwave wheels) having placed the sticker as per instruction, if i was to fit them here i can see no physical way that the wheels will clear the tubes when you lift them?

this is a 3.5 Aluminium floor so its the specific wheels for that one T35-AE2 (lift, pull , drop type)
Anyone have any guidance for me, i dont want to pepper the transom with holes for no reason.
Many thanks,
Andy

My 3.5 AE with Trem wheels. They just clear the tubes.

Hi Paintman,

Thanks for trying but that threads not really relevant, i already have the specific honwave wheels for the sib, the instructions appear to have me placing them where they cant possibly clear ?

also can these be removed quickly/easily for rolling the boat up ? as it wont be on a trailer, maybe by wanting to buy all OME gear i might have made a mistake ?

Andy can you add an image of the wheels you have... or are they exactly the same as Paddlers in post #3 above?

Re easy removal if they are as paddlers image you will see there is just one pin to pull leaving the bracket on the transom. When rolling up I cover the bracket with a sponge or something to make 100% sure they can't rub the material.

yeah thats the identical wheels i have.
they dont seem to be anywhere near where the instructions state though, i may be reading it wrong of course, and i guess common sense needs to prevail looking at paddlers photos.
i was worried about puncturing the membrane/skin though ? Only reason i wanted them exact as per instruction was dealing with companies under warranty they look for the least excuse to blame you rather than honour guarantees (much like insurance companies )
Anyway looks like an easy job now that i see i need to just worki it out myself for clearances

Cheers everyone.

Remember the first rule of fitting stuff.... never read the instructions!

No problem.

The relevant post in that thread advises offering up new bits to make sure they don't foul other parts of the boat & then fitting in the best position. Your problem is that the instructions you've got will cause them to foul the tubes.

If your worry is that fitting other than in exact accordance with the instructions will cause warranty issues then you'd be best taking advice from or having them fitted by a franchised dealer.
