Honwave T35 AE launching wheels

Hi Everyone,

Any Honwave T35 AE (NOT air deck) owners out there successfully fitted a set of the big style launching wheels ?

Our T35 has a Honda 20hp motor, and when we tried a set of second hand MiDMarine easy fold launching wheels, they fouled on the outboard casing and prevented full tiller movement being achieved. We tried all the permutations of position but always got the same result. The triangular "spray stopper" piece of fabric between the top of the transom and the rear of the tube restricted placement too.

Fortunately we checked before drilling into the transom !

The official Honwave ones for the aluminium deck look good, but I can't seem to find anyone in the UK who has them in stock.

I don't want the small "cog type" folding ones, as most of our launching/retrieval will be across sand.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

I believe Jeff Stevens modified the anti splash on his Excel to get around the same problem. He'll be around soon no doubt with a picture how it was done.

Trem Heavy Duty on my 3.5 AE. I welded 4" stainless 1" tube on to counter the floaty effect when in the water.Click image for larger version

Thanks for that Paddlers

Did you have any issues with the wheels fouling the full range of movement for the engine when on the water with the wheels in the up position ? We are running a 20hp Honda

Cheers

after some consideration and research I went for some of these:

fitted to my Honwave T30-AE recently and very pleased. Very robust and fold away unobtrusively...
