one tip.. Achillies boats, the older made in Japan ones, for 1980s threw the 1990s are still all over. i have three boats from this vintage that might look a little warn out but are in excellent shape and will last years and years still nobody knows how long they can last as the orignal ones are still on the water.. on the other hand some PVC zodiac that is 5-10 years old is probably completely garbage if it has any sun damage or fading.
the only way i would buy a PVC boat is if it was never and in excellent shape. Any sort of wear and age and it better be close to free.
Make sure you get a Hypalon boat, of course Avon is a great british brand, maybe ther eis lots of those in England, here in B.C. Canada everyone is rocking the Achilles boats, kind of like the Toyota Corolla of SIBS.
Don't buy one with large holds near a seam, rotten transom, fabric that is starting to get spider web cracks and delaminate (happens to hypalon can go bad, less so with some brands) make sure to fill the tubs with air, bring a spray bottle with soap and water and check around seams and stuff for leaks, bubbles will form.
The best deal you can get is something like a 1991 Achilles or Avon that looks bad , maybe two or three pourly put on patches that are even leaking, people give these away for peanuts.. It' san illusion as inside they are in great shape and are so well made that they will outlast those cheap made in CHINA PVC outs easil.
