how much

hi all
ive been sat in the background reading all the info on this site, so my first post...
when i got my sib i got giving 2 outboards at 3.5 4 stroke mercury, and a 9.9hp 2 stoke 1991 outboard, but i really want a 4 stoke 15hp so im looking at selling both but dont no the prices on them could any let me no what price i should be looking for,,,, both running good starts first pull,,,,, thanks steven

I think you'll find that 9.9hp can be fairly simply uprated to 15hp with just a carb change.

You'll prefer the acceleration of a 2 stroke Unless you don't like the noise that is.

i dont like the noise, plus the adding oil to fuel, where would i find the model number on it do you think. ive had the hood off but cannot find nowt . thanks

It should be on the clamp or on a recessed aluminium disc on the side of the powerhead.


I assume you're aware of the other limitation of 4 strokes?

Are you expecting to cover the full purchase price of a 15hp 4 stroke with the sale of the 2 motors?

nar ive a few £ to one side just dont want 3 outboards in the house as she will go nuts, and the cash i get for the 2 out boards will help,,,

i found some deatils bit dark in that room but im sure it was A197112 AND B4822

i was just thinking about that mate, as its a honda t40 sib and its heavy on its own haha, i no that 9.9 2 stroke gets it up and away, but i like everythink to look flash and new ish, so now im hoping someone will beable to let me no how much they would think its worth, thanks steve

The 9.9, I sold an identical one a while back for £500.

Not sure on the smaller one, got to be £250 minimum.

You might want to try a 15hp 4 stroke first though, you may find that it's got less get up and go from a standing start than the 9.9hp you have now.

you want a nice 25hp 2 stroke on there. Mine has a 25hp 2 stroke tohatsu, it flying.

The 15hp 4 stroke weighs the same as the 25hp 2 stroke (around 50kg)
