Hydro force Mirovia

Does any member have one of these ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hydro-Forc...MakeTrack=true

Would this be suitable as a sib for 2 persons.
Or some thing to avoid and look for another type?

Or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Excel-365-...item3ab1c37b4f

I was thinking it might be a good start.

You probably didn't get a response because it's likely that no one has heard of these Hydro Force boats. They look like a generic Chinese import, and are flogged by a general discount store who sell a wide range of unbranded home and lifestyle products. It might be OK, it might be rubbish. Either way the vendor is unlikely to have any specialist knowledge, and may or may not be helpful if any after sales support is needed.

This type of design with a flat air floor doesn't perform as well as a hard-floor SIB and tends to be a bit floppy, especially at speed or in any kind of chop.

I thought about this after posting so I am now thinking I should be looking for a well known make .
The early part of next year another rib .

So in the meanwhile I will keep on saving and looking about. Needless to say I will be looking first at the classifieds here on Ribnet..

Many thanks for the reply.

They seem quite highly priced for an ebay punt? I got my honwave new for less than £500 from the local dealer.

I have in the past had a searider rib with twin Honda’s but due to a back injury Not caused by ribbing.
sold it .

Now the back problem has been sorted and thought I would like to back back into it.
In the meanwhile I had owned many other types of vessels ..
But there seems to be nothing like a rib.

So looking about now And expect to buy something the early part of next year.

Hi Sonar,

I had the same Hydro Force for my first boat to use on the river. It was brilliant and really well made. A yachtty friend of mine who has been boating for years was gobsmacked when i told him i bought it new for £450 and he couldnt believe the quality. I had nothing to compare it to but was very pleased with it. Put a 9.9hp 4st on the back and would get 16mph with 2 adults on board and it was great fun.

I had the 3.8 metre version and it was brilliant with 20hp tohatsu. But I found that it wasn't easy to store and carry. Downsized to 3.3 Mirovia and it's very good, light and solid. Ordered a 6hp new Tohatsu for it.
