I didn't know that about the Excel, that's interesting.

I live a few miles from where they're based in Worthing so will go and have a look.

A lot of the fishing/sailing YouTube channels I subscribe to look like they have been given stuff and a lot of them really need everything they get their hands on! I don't think with 10k-odd subscribers anyone is rich enough to turn much down if it appeals to them.

I'm not saying that these OYZ boys are doing this by any means, but I don't really mind it - unless there's a big old Ad at the start of every instalment!
A question for you Tonus as I know fish. Does the overall width, internal and external, matter when you are sea fishing. Thinking stability.

If anyone finds black SIBs with a few gadgets glued on attractive then Boatworld have a couple that might interest.

The V air deck Explorer 320 (with a *really* streamlined keel)...

https://boatworld.co.uk/boatworld-explorer-320-air-v

And the alloy floor Carbon Pro 365...

https://boatworld.co.uk/boatworld-carbon-pro-365

Both at the bargain price of £1095.

Yes I'd think so Steve although I'm not a big fishing guy - why do you ask?

>>The material is really strong, and much sturdier than our boatworlds or any of the other sibs we’ve owned

If you are confident of this the Hydrus material spec would be good to know.

I wonder if they do a “rescue” version. Asking for a friend….

And so it begins

Seriously lads?
Although originally not a fan of your tongue in cheek/ OTT/ over dramatic style, you have won me over on many of your videos.
To the point where I actually look forward to watching your next adventure.

Having very limited Sibbing knowledge myself, it’s good to see your, Donnie’s, and others videos of what these things are capable of in the right hands, be it for coastal exploring fishing or whatever.

If true this was not a payed promotion or any other incentivised review, I will be surprised.
But regardless, perhaps as the others have said it might have been best toned down a little, and sticking to the facts and not let your excitement run away with you quite so much.

Carlos has been slowly plugging away with the sales, and good for him I say, as the more competition, hopefully the better deals there will be for us all.

Oban On The Water earlier style of reviews (please see below as don’t know how to add) of a similar sib and others, did more to sell it to me I’m afraid, but as I always say it takes all sorts I suppose!

Interestingly Oban then went on to plug the Excel Volaire like mine, only in the SAS….Every woman loves Milk Tray….black (your parents can explain) , and a boat world canoe thing as well for fishing, but I do find his reviews to be a bit more factual and less ott.

Anyone looking to get into sib fishing could do worse than give him a look on youtube.

Have you tried any of the Excel fleet or any of the new boat world carbons etc ?

Keep the videos coming guys…we do appreciate the work you put into them....maybe just stick to the facts a bit more

I realise what you guys are doing costs money, but please try not spoil which on the whole is good channel by turning it into something too commercialised if at all possible, like I’ve seen on so many other good channels.

P.s Oars don’t really do it for me (I think these look identical to many of the other sibs) but I did have to laugh at the excitement shown.

Now if talking about transom wheels…that’s a different matter!

I've briefly seen some of Oban on the Water but your post has caused me to revisit his channel thanks. The Eddystone one is quite impressive!

Interesting he's upgraded from Hydrus to the Excel which took him 14mls from land. I've been that far out loads on something with bedrooms and a kitchen but I reckon even with years of experience sibbing that would concentrate your mind.

Sorry for the delay in answering, just had the lovely task of unblocking a toilet this afternoon. "I didn't think a nappy would block it, why can't you flush them down the loo" I never realised people could be so fu...ing stupid!

For some reason I had it in my head you was into fishing, that's why I asked.
Out of the few SIBs I have either had or been in, IMO the Excel range have been the most stable. I belive it to be down to the width. As an example, the Excel SD360 is 180cm wide - the Hydrus 6 is 170cm wide, internally the difference is 10cm.
The Excel Volaire 390 is 190cm wide - the Honwave T38 is 170cm wide.
Does that make the Excel the "best" sib, of course it doesn't. It all depends on what you want from your sib. Space, stability and from my point of view practically. But those benifits cost in terms of other things weight and speed being the most obvious.

The Excel is absolutely the best SIB I’ve ever had

I have mentioned it previously, but thier own UKAS Assessment Report states a maximumm Outboard weight of 43kg. That rules out every 4 stroke 15hp and/or 20hp outboard with the exception of the Tohatsu EFI. I think it would also rule out (those with greater knowledge than I will clarify) every 20hp 2 stroke. Dosen't make good reading for the "best" sib if you look closely.

And I think Chipko... or someone... a good while ago said those quoted weights were pessimistic... by the time you had oil in them the real life weight was over that. So I reckon there is no 20hp that could go on the 3.7m and at 59kg you may well have wanted that.

Liked some of the other videos. No one could possibly believe this isn’t a sales partnership though(or attempt to create one). Theres nothing wrong with them, in fact you should probably pursue that, But openly and honestly. Keep pushing you towards a pretty cool boat which you could probably achieve. Couldn’t watch it all. Gushing praise and occasional nonsense doesn’t make a good review or film.

I would agree but the growth of their channel and the number of views would say otherwise
