The logo is exactly the same as Excel, as are the bench rails and the hard nylon rope.
Looking at the "hull", Excel use to offer extra protection by applying "corrugated" pvc to the existing "hull".
I'd say it's either an SD360/390 or an HD365/390 with added hull protection.

I've just noticed you have one...
How do you like it with a 20hp? Any 'bending' issues? Have you ever seen a yellow one before?
Apologies for all the questions, I am a newby to SIBs. We are downsizing from a 4.5m sport cat to potter around the creeks in Cornwall, due to old age and decrepitude!

I really like it. Very spacious as its wider than most sibs and it performs really well with a 20hp, slower than most other sibs but that's because of the width.
Never really suffered from "bending issues" but I don't think the 360/365 is prone to it unlike the 390. Make sure the pressures are bang on and it's not a problem. I also think the keel board I fitted may have helped:-

If the one you are looking at is an aluminium floor, you won't have any problem at all with "bending"

The only other yellow one I have seen was on the Dart a couple of years ago, yellow with black detail. It stood out from the rest which isn't a bad thing in my opinion.

One thing to note, if you are thinking of inflating /deflating every time you use it you will find it difficult to pack away and carry due to the extra "hull" protection, I was told by Terry (ex owner of Excel) that it adds approx 15kg to the weight.

Is this an ex-hire previously at Fowey boat hire?? Or St. Ives boat hire... just the look rings a bell.

The St.Ives yellow ones had stainless arches on the transoms.

Well spotted David, the deflated sib next to it actually says "St Ives Self Drive Boats"
That explains the extra "hull" protection.

Ahh extra well spotted re the deflated one. I thought theirs were Vangards just under or just over 4m.

The hire guy is a slipway hogger setting up his stall and boats so there's hardly room for a canoe to get down.

Think that would make me a little cautious before I parted with any cash, it would have to be very cheap and carefully inspected.
I wouldn't have thought being sat out in the sun 24/7 for a couple of seasons would have done the pvc and/or glue any good.

It was on Facebook Market place, with a newish looking mercury 4 stroke for £400.

The little mercury is probably worth close to that alone, so it's basically a free sib (arvert says its a rib).

Could be worth a punt at that price if you live close enough and you want a 6hp 4s Merc, but you may struggle to get rid of a 435 Vangaurd weighing in at over 110kg.
