Inner Transom pad

Does anyone else suffer from paint flaking off of the inside transom pad?

I'm on my second one now and on both the paint just flakes off.

Typical of general manufacture, just stripped the flaking paint off mine today. They are cast aluminium and given a quick coat of baked top coat, ie not properly etch primed or powder coated.

I'd just strip and leave it bare.

That's a good idea.

I was looking for a replacement but may do as you advised.

Thanks.
