Install transom wheel advice

Good afternoon folks,
I have just purchased a set of C Tug wheels for my SIB... however to install them would mean drilling through the top part of the PVC located at bottom of the transom. If using Silka or similar as well as bolts etc would this be ok? whats the general verdict?

thanks and regards
Al

Hi Al and welcome to the forum.

Drilling through the PVC where it folds up over the bottom of the transom isn't a problem. But as you say seal the holes well as they will be exposed to water much of the time.

Agreed, not a problem if well sealed.

Only caveat I’d add is just check the bolts on the inside of the transom don’t foul the floor when fitted. Particularly if your boat has an air floor. [emoji106]

>>>Particularly if your boat has an air floor.

The ultimate faux pas being drilling through the transom and the back of the air floor.

Use 3m 5200 sealant/adhesive in the holes. A lot, then clean up excess after all tightened up.
