Interpreting vin number on my zodiac

I just purchased a used zodiac zoom 310 solid. I figured out it was made 2014 but what does the XDC at the start of the VIN number stand for. Also what type of glue should I use to repair the fabric.

Hi and welcome to the forum. XDC just identifies it as a Zodiac. The material will be PVC so in the UK we'd use a 2-part glue from one of the inflatable boat spares suppliers.

I believe the first thee letters indicate where the boat was made. Zodiac make boats in a few different countries.

I don't know much about glue availability where you are, but I've used a few from PolyMarine 3026, NautiGlue, Stabond, IBS etc with good results.

The first two letters (if they are there, followed by a hyphen before XDC) are the location code and XDC is Zodiac (inc Bombard).

Hence my French made Bombard has on the tag this ID designation...

FR-XDCA1234F414.

I have put in a generic serial number above after the XDC and the final 14 shows it is a 2014 build/model.
