Kampa awning pump ,
Hi guys , I’ve just bought a second hand T38 Honwave , the tubes go to 0.25bar , when I pumped them up withe Kampa pump it went to 0.15bar and there wasn’t much give in the tubes while pressing them , I stopped it at that incase they burst ,
Not had a chance to get on the water as the weather has been bad ,
Does the pressure go up quickly at the end ,?.
Will see how it goes on the water , can always top it up with the foot pump
John

Hi John, a 0.1 bar difference is more than a third less than what it should be. It won't burst, the T38 has an overpressure valve fitted. You need to make sure it is at the correct pressure as it will adversely effect performance, and top it up after its been on the water for a short period. What pressure have you inflated the keel?
You'll be doing yourself a big favour if you invest in a digital electric inflator.

The Kampa is a digital inflatable, I put the floor up to 0.76 and it cut out ,
But the tubes looked to be nearly hard at 0.15bar

I don't know what the keel pressure should be, but you need to fully inflate the keel and the tubes to the correct pressure. So if it says 0.25 bar for the tubes that's what it should be.

0.35 from Memory for the keel it will definitely flex with that much low pressure top it up to the pressure mark place in water wait 10 minutes then check pressure again adjust go have some fun [emoji6]

Not sure where all this advice is coming from regarding keels and pressure relief valves. The T38 has neither.
If confident your Kampa pump gauge is reasonably accurate then pump up tubes to recommended 0.25 bar and floor to 0.8 bar. Normal for tubes at 0.25 bar to feel drum tight.
You may get away with running tubes very slightly under pressure but not the floor sections as critical to performance. Would also advise topping all up twenty mins or so after launching to compensate for any pressure drop from cool water, plus electric pumps warm up the air somewhat during inflation.

Seamark Nunn & Liverpool Powerboats both use the word "keel", also "hull" and "air V deck" to describe the same thing. I just chose one of them.
I was under the impression that they had introduced a pressure relief valve on the T38-ie3, I have to admit I can't find where I read it so perhaps I'm wrong.
