Looks good. My comments on looking at the pics

1) the underside of the floor looks a bit close to the water. This is worrying
2) would be nice to have lifting handles on inside of tubes at the back
3) no wheels included like Boatworld one but at this price can’t be expected
4) could easily remove transom plate and cut and lower transom and replace if needed

Generally easily looks worth the money and very pretty

Nice 9.8 by the way very useful for your commercial boat reviewing business

I like the adjustable transom. That’s a good feature. The gap between the floor and water does look lower. That may be a positive, if it reduces turbulence suffered at the transom.
If you get the chance for a maiden voyage on the river before winter, it will give you a chance to gauge any issues for going surfing!
( I ran mine on the river yesterday. It flew( forgot g.p.s), so a bit subjective).

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yes, agree the floor height is a bit concerning. On our Elling it’s nearly 150mm and think the Takacats are similar although seem to recall it was also slightly lower on the Katsport, and that performed well. Perhaps Dennis would be good enough to drop a tape on his when next inflated.

We’ll have the 15hp motor back home in November so keen to get out on the river for an initial shakedown. A few tasks to sort out in the meantime like transom wheels, towing eyes, some luggage straps (orange!) to secure tank etc. to floor and a couple of largish scuppers in transom to shed water quickly. Nowt urgent though.

Looks like an interesting boat... I wondered if any of you Cat lovers had seen this from Boatworld:

Hi, Yes they had a pre production model at the Boatshow in September. Looked okay to be honest and think it’s to fill the gap in their line up since the demise of Elling.

Might be giving one a test in the Spring [emoji3]

Nice, I'd like to see that!

I like the look of the Kolibri though - glad to know that the contact on eBay is legit..
I've fancied the idea of a Cat like that for a while because they maximise the space at the bow for the kids... I've been unsure though since reading about the TrueKits taking on a lot of water when the sea has a little chop.
I'd love to see how the Kolibri gets on when you get the right weather!

The Boatworld Kat certainly took on a lot of water at the bow when we hit a modest wave

Hmmm! Weathers a tad shite up here at the mo. Sea is looking decidedly dodgy up north and even the local river is running a bit sharpish!

So no ribbing or sibbing I’m afraid, and taking the opportunity to drill a few holes in the Kolibri transom and add some quick release bunks to the mini rib trailer to carry the ‘Kat’
Can’t be arsed with this daily inflate malarkey!

I ‘m not surprised you are not venturing out. It looks horrendous I like the adaptation of the roller trailer- very inventive.
Is that a submarine I can see beyond the waves?!

Thanks, trailer bunks work in progress at the moment. [emoji106]

Ha! No not a sub I’m afraid, it’s Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland.

Still haven’t managed to get this little bugger wet yet. Weather not been playing ball recently with lumpy seas and flooded rivers.

Current weather systems keeping us off the water but been utilising down time to get boat launch ready. Finished the roller trailer bunk mods, peppered transom with holes, sealed and fitted transom wheels brackets/towing eyes, and test mounted 9.8, 15 and 20 horse motors.
Bar a few tie down straps and new anchor tub, then we’re more or less ready to roll.

Hi chipko, the weather is very frustrating hopefully it'll play ball soon.
I was wondering if you'd found some special illuminated orange sealant, until I realised its the light shining through the holes you've drilled!
Are you only fitting one extra drain?

It does look really cool. To me particularly with the Mariner 20. I know you said you didn't like the Mariner look Steve but I've always like the way the black parts seem to merge into the background just leaving the silver hood prominent.

It's really hard to plan weather wise. I have either Mon, Sat or Sun pencilled in for next week but probably by tomorrow those dry sunny days this way will have changed.

You're right David, that colour scheme does look very good together. As you've put very "cool"

Looking excellent. I am rather thinking this might be a better buy than the Boatworld KAT.

We are in Lanzarote at the moment and it is 28 degrees, sun and no wind which is unusual. You could bring it her for a test.

How do you think it compares with the Boatworld one so far.
