Lancer valve 30mm

Hello friends,

Recently received an old Lancer inflatable, which I really like. The valves were gone however... the former owner put some kind of plumbing stop on it. It seems the hole in the tubes is appr 35mm, while the valve insert is probably 30mm. Does anyone have such valves or know a possible replacement? Would a Leafield A5 fit for example? Thanks for any help!

The Leafield C7 valve will fit exactly into the 35mm hole assuming the old valve is not fixed to the tube in some way and you can get into the tube to put the replacement valve in. If you have to cut the old valve out (which is likely) then you will need glue a doubler on the outside of the tube with the new valve fitted (these should have the standard 35mm diameter hole ready cut).

An old Achilles valve nearly fitted. Now I'm going to try an old Quicksilver valve 32,9 mm. I hate cutting out old valves if it's not necessary. And the Lancer had two very small leaks, which are going to be fixed coming Friday. The boat is at least 40 years old but the hypalon is still in remarkable good shape. Seems they built quality boats back then.

And yes! The Quicksilvers fit. Wonderful. So: if you're ever offered a Lancer, accept it and screw in two new QS valves. Life can be full of pleasant surprises.
