Launch in cornwall
Hi all, I'm looking for somewhere to launch from, or possibly keep my 3.0 sib in Cornwall. Any ideas please?
Regards, Terry.

Boatlaunch.co.uk is the site to use when looking for slipways, although there must be dozens of places with beaches and adjoining car parks. Someone else will have to recommend storage but you could start by calling marinas and harbour offices near the location for leads. Maybe a friendly Chandlery local to the area would be able to help?

I would use boatlaunch and google, pick your location and go have a look. Most places will have somewhere to launch and store boats, just a case of chatting to the locals

Give us an idea of where in Cornwall you're thinking of & what you want to do & you might get a better response - its coastline is just shy of 300 miles!
If it's general cruising, sight seeing etc you could do a lot worse than Falmouth. Several boatyards both in Falmouth & up & down the river, plenty to do & lots to see.
Couple of starters for you: https://www.cornwalls.co.uk/Falmouth/fal_river.htm

Like paintman says, there's quite a lot of Cornwall so you probably need to narrow it down a bit.
The suggestion of Falmouth is good, and another obvious choice with a SIB would be Fowey which is smaller but with a similar range of options for sea or inland cruising.

I live 5 minute drive from Fowey and it's the only place we launched from last year, St Austell bay has some great spots to sneak a sib into. Parking can be a pain but I used to live there so know a few spots to park free if you don't mind a 5-20 minute walk.
I'm keen to try Falmouth myself and a few other places so I'll also follow this.

Cornwall is, as others have said, rather large. If you're the East side you have Saltash. This gives access to the Tamar, the Plym and Plymouth Sound. A great place to be boat wise.
Looe is also an option, but is tidal so you have to understand when you can and can't go out. Both have slipways, marinas and yacht clubs to store or launch.
Fowey or Pulruan have slipways and marinas and as others have said is great.
Next one down that I know is Mylor, a superb location that I've booked again in August this year for the regatta and then Falmouth itself. Kylie is a great location and Flamouth gives you plenty of clubs, slips, council storage etc.
Don't forget Penzance. A good slip, a big car park with a huge bay to explore.
And then we look at the North coast. Newquay, Padstow, Rock, Port Isaac, Bude all have harbours, storage and launching. It's more challenging then the South coast but it can be very rewarding too.
Both coasts also have other launch points, beaches etc where you can put in and go.
My sib used to live in a local self storage container. Cheaper then a mariner and very secure. Allowed me to pick her up and go where ever I wanted. Which is why we have sibs........
