Lengthening tubes

Has anyone ever tryed to lengthening a dingy/tube by simply cutting it in half and gluing a piece of New tube between the parts?

There you go - only issue is filling the big hole you're going to leave in the floor or you'll end up more Das Boot than Dhr Boote!!

You need two boats, cut one off at the transom and the other just after the curved bow then joint them together.

Just for clarification, you'll need to join the long bits rather than the short bits!
