Pretty old SIB and the transom does not look the beefiest in the world. Can't help (don't know the actual manufacturer rating) thinking 40 would be a bit over the top - for the boat as well as the pilot...

The seller might be able to read the plate if asked. I did find a refererence to the 3.2m model only taking 12hp but have seen a 3.95 with a 40hp on but it looked to be a more rugged build with thicker transom.

Wonder if the chequer plate floor is original? Looks wrong to me but I have seen one online before like that (same boat perhaps?)... and they were a very small maker so might have done some unusual things.

Interesting.

In post #9 of your first link Thornbackflound's one has a very similar floor so yep looks like one of their options. But note the boat is a heavier build with far thicker transom, far more substantial grab line arrangement, rowlocks, oar keeepers etc.

Then in your last link (Ebay) the boat has a wooden floor with the similar tube top wear patch and lighter grab lines similar to the one idsebby is looking at on donedeal... it also has the lighter weight transom of the donedeal one.

I wonder if these differences are alternative models such as river/beach type vs a more long range version.

Here's another smaller 3.2m variant with the lighter transon and wooden floor...

>>>seller might be able to read the plate if asked

The more I squint at it the more I think I see a faint "40" stamped on that plate in the donedeal image??

If it is 40, bear in mind a modern 40 weighs more

Thanks for the replies guys. Don't know why but I didn't get any notifications from your answers. Anyway I am tempted to go grab this. It's in west cork/ Kerry which is literally the worlds end well at least the end of Europe. Ya see I picked up an Avon s500 in January I think it's an early 80s boat patched the daylights out of it. Holds air great now but a baffle is gone and this seems to plague my mind when I am out on the water. This boat seems in a bit better shape as in having working baffles. I just don't want to trade one problem for another.

Below is a link to my current Avon. Hypalon is good but some of the seam tape is cracking. Probably could sell my current Avon up here in Waterford for the same price I could pick that one up for.

Also I might just sell my 40hp and get a 20 or 30. either way it's heavy and would be nice to get out of the water easier.
