Lodestar boats

Was looking in a local chandlers today at SIB's and saw a Lodestar 4.1 open rib . It looked very good for the price and even had over pressure valves and a bow locker .
It wieghed about 80kg and was rated for 40hp motor up to 120kg.

I thought it could make a good alternative to a similar sized sib considering most of us end up with them on a trailer ,especially the big solid floor models .

Could be a bit of fun with 40hp tiller steer 2 stroke . or even a 50

Even though not listed on the Lodestar's web site, 4.1 version seems to exist, have a look here http://www.shop.gutsches.de/catalog/...-Pricelist.pdf
Do you know of any UK suppliers for Lodestar?

If I'm not mistaken, its the newer sib/rib brand from Brunswick Corporation, an update to Quicksilver, also made in Asia. If maintaining the same good price & quality as Quicksilver will be a good option to look for.

Happy Sibbing

Yes they do seem to be part of the Brunswick Corp . And yes Iam sure they are made in china like most mass produced things are these days .

I spoke to the UK importer today who told me that at present they are only importing the smaller ribs and sibs up to 3.6m at present .The few that have been sold here inc this one I have seen I think may be grey imports that came via what seems to be the main dealer in Holland .

Info on the net is a little conflicting but the 4.1 does exist and I think its an 07 version . Also saw some in an orange colour at 4.3m or 4.5 thay also list a 4.5 . I think one range is sold as a bare rib the other comes with a small consul etc

Anyway the uk importer , or should I say the contact on the website lodestar UK told me the one I had seen at £2k was very cheap and I would be unlikely to get another at that price, which is also what the chandlers told me , so along with a nice extra discount for it being an ex display in the showroom I bought it . the quality does seem very good for the price , they also seem to offer hypalon options on the sibs and a sib with hijackers rather like a Futura

Danilo the rib came from Marine Bazarre in Plymouth 01752 201023 . They are really helpful and strait , They expect any new orders to cost over £2.5k due partly to the £ being weak but said they could still order new ones

Will be the 4th boat in 3 years or seven in 4 if you count canoes and kayaks
Daft thing is i have had more use out of a £50 surfboard this year than any of the boats
