We have a caravan in Carnforth so I will probably stay there with the tribe and just travel up with my boy. New boat is due tomorrow, may be its first outing!

it has to be said that sibs are great fun. people often wrongly underestimate just how seaworthy they are. i reckon i will get another when my lad is old enough to handle one on his own.

The tinnies and camp fire are for when they kick you out at last orders
You have always got to have a back up plan

I've stayed at Waterside House a fair few years ago (year before foot and mouth I think). Decent enough site. Don't recall a pub but Pooley bridge is probably under a mile away along the lakeside.
We stayed in March. Water froze over night in the tent. But waking up to a hot air ballon rising over the water from somewhere Glen Ridding direction with a bit of mist was truely magical.
Think they had their own slipway which was gravel from memory (wasn't boating when I stayed) but should be easy enough to launch SIBs.
BEWARE the speed limits.

Just a quick question for the more experienced sibbers, do you take the wooden seat off or leave it on ?
