Mounting a transducer

My sib is an air vee floor with transom trim tabs (like the honwave)
What's the best way to fit a removable transducer? Thanks

Excel, slightly different to yours, but the mounting can be adapted to suit. It’s not obvious from the photo, but the stainless angle that carries the transducer slots into the black plastic block to the left of the wheel bracket. You could step this block out further to clear the trim tab, or put a crank in the stainless angle.

Some solutions I've seen to get over the trim tab problem...

Strapped around rear of a tube... on a curving stainless tube like the transom wheels... on a mount glued to the floor tab (perhaps the neatest)... on a mount glued to the top of a tube couple of metres in front of the transom then with a stainless leg going down the side of the tube.

Our solution on a previous T38 using demountable Borika fittings.

Don’t remember seeing that before, probably the neatest and least intrusive solution of all… pretty well off the shelf too.

I almost went for that one on my Elling, just because of the ability to knock back out of the way should you forget its there when beaching. Nice solution.

Transducer mount
I used a nylon type strap similar to a golf cart bag holder or seat belt, heated a piece of plastic to angle needed to attach the transducer to it and secured with aluminum rivets then attached a piece of velcro to secure it rather than a buckle securing it to the toon... works perfectly.
If you have trouble tightening, let a little air out secure then re-inflate, the whole thing can be removed in 5 minutes or less.
Be sure to remove the rivet studs so not to chaff or puncture the toon.Click image for larger version

Here’s mine which is very similar. I made a little wood block from marine ply and painted with marine white. The strap is good but doesn’t feel like a solid fix. I’m tempted by the Borika mount for £35… looks smart.

Does anybody have a tip for cable management inside the boat for the transducer cable? Something removable and quick to fit would be good. I use these little sticky cable clips but it means the transducer is always on the boat…

How about sticky back velcro for clips, put the soft fluffy side on the tube/transom and the spikey bits on the cable.

Not wanting to drill any further holes in the transom I decided to use existing mounts for the zodiac launch wheels. This allows easy removal when coming onto the beach. Unfortunately my mark 1 version was too long so need to modify to allow it to stay on when at speed as with it sat as low as it does it kicks up lots of spray. I had made it with threaded rod so it was adjustable and could get an ideal depth when on the water and then lock it off in that position (with a weak intention of then making it in stainless at a later date).

Well I'm a real 'make do and mend’ guy.
I've used an old aluminium rod rest, fitted some pipe clips and fit it on my launch wheel stems. I've just had to put some insulation tape on the stainless stems to stop the clips slipping
