Mull, Fidden campsite.

Just back from a great weeks camping at Fidden on Mull. Never heard of that site before the Gurnards post so thumbs up to that man.

A few photos: Heading over from Oban to Craignure.

Its fairly shallow ground around the area so i used the oars to creep around until i got a feel for the place. Still manage to catch the skeg on a rock when trying to do a short cut home one day, but luckily no damage done.

We had mixed weather for the week and i didn't venture too far from Fidden in the boat.
Had a look around Erraid island which empties out at low water but you can just creep around on a big high tide.

We had onshore winds when i went round and well i probably shouldn't have as I was met by confused water with no pattern to the occasional breaking waves as i got round near Rankins rocks. No photos of this I'm afraid as no spare hand free (too busy hanging on) this took longer than expected and the fading light didn't help matters. Lesson learned!

Had a couple of trips over to Iona which was a nice day out.

Very easy going campsite with plenty of room and loved having the sib on the beach right beside the tent.

Yep that does look a great location... perhaps the only thing missing from our holiday was immediate access to a sandy beach... nearest was about an hours round trip in the boat.

Hi Steve, I'm the guy you met at Loch scridain! Good photos! We camped 5 miles or so round the coast from fidden and had a good few days as well. Try and get to staffa next time :-)

Hi Duggie
Nice to meet you, glad you had a good one also. Staffa would be good, just not sure in what craft....
I only just scratched the surface, Duggie and Gurnard would be best placed about suitability for a RR. Very easy launch from the campsite though..
