My boat and a question
After a few attempts i was able to become a member (YES!).
Guys i bought a 22 year old Zodiac a month ago. It is in good shape, and i assume it is a Zodiac Mark1 C , here is the photo http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=gx1fwFxi http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=Pq2I9a_0 .
It is a 3.10 meters boat.
Please do not hesitate to comment if it is NOT Mark1 C , i'd appreciate any help identifying.
I am thinking of a 2 stroke 3,5 HP Tohatsu ( budget budget!) . I just fish 200 -300 meters from the shore.
Do you think 3,5 would be enough?

Welcome to Ribnet.
Nice looking boat. It is the wind and the current you have to watch. I would rather a bigger engine. My Quicksilver 3.1m has a 15hp and really flies but that is more than you need. I would say a 5 or 6 hp to be safe. It need not cost too much more or maybe consider a good used engine instead?
How deep is the water there? If not too deep make sure you get a good anchor - say a 5kg one. Don't bother with the folding type unless the bottom is rock - they are useless on sand.

That boat looks to be absolutely pristine! My first exposure to inflatable boats was around 1988ish, when my father, brother and I bought a used 1979 Zodiac Mark 1 C from the local Zodiac dealer. It had been previously used by the RCMP. Despite alot of very hard use, my brother and I still have that boat today, though it is in nothing like the condition of yours. I believe that boat is rated for up to 25 hp (2 stroke). You will need more than 3.5 hp to get on plane with one person. With 2 people and minimal gear you will need closer to 10 hp to get on plane.

Zodiac should be paying us to do their advertising, not the other way around!
