need help Donato air valves

I have a Scanner 590 Rib. I have a leaking air valve. The original valve is a Donato, I would like to replace 4 valves. Here's my problem. I live in San Diego California No one wants to replace my valves as they are not familiar with my inflatable and don't want to touch it. I can't find Donato valves anywhere in California. Does anyone know of a Company in Italy or anywhere in Europe, I could purchase these valves. Thanks So much from North America

It would be helpful if you posted a picture of the valve

I replaced all my valves with these, along with adding in two over pressure valves. Replacement is fairly involved, requiring cutting a slightly larger hole in the tubing and putting patches back on.

I like Stabond for gluing things up.

Was hoping to purchase Donato valves so I wouldn't have to cut into RIB. These seem to be a very hard valve to locate. Thanks for your reply Rod

Just a thought - have you dismantled the existing valves, cleaned them and retested?

Haven't removed them. The rib is 1997, so the valves are 27 years old. Looking to replace them. Don't want a failure off shore. Thanks

Well yeah, if you have to you have to. Without a photo it's hard to know if they are beat up to hell. Then again, you don't say how bad the leak is. Is it bubbling out through the valve outlet of is there a fabric rip or seam lifting? If it's via the valve body, there's a chance you just need to remove dirt and debris, clean and replace an o-ring.

Best of luck with it. if you're going offshore in a 27 year old Italian RIB, you have more things to worry about than the valves

air valve replacement

The valves are not beat up. The scanner 590 is also in great condition. Just put on a NEW Yamaha 115 hp 4-stroke. I sailed around the world and power boated to Hawaii from San Diego - 13 days. I have been on inflatables all over the world, This scanner is ready to go anywhere once I replace the air valve. Thanks for your reply Rod

Does that mean you found the repair parts?

Donato air valves

Did not find replacement Donato air valves. Was hoping now finding valves with metric threads. My valves are similar looking to a Halkey-Roberts inflation valve.

As mentioned above a picture is worth a thousand words. If they are Halkey Roberts valves they can be had for a reasonable price.

This is one common part number. Halkey-Roberts 690BV
