Many thanks for the review I have all of those engines also and a merc 15 hp 2 stroke so might also give that a try. Looking forward to mine arriving hopefully as the advertised date of 7th July. I also hope they have got the tank fixing on the production models. This might be a wetsuit or swimming Cassie kind of boat for those hot days

Great review Chipko. It shows how versatile this type of sib is, and how this type of craft can run well on a range of motors, even small, light weight ones, and turn in a decent performance. (obviously dependant on loading and use requirements. )
It opens up options, and increases the dilemma, when looking to buy!

Brilliant assessment Chipko, particularly with that broad outboard selection.

Just found out that the models coming in will be much the same as the review model and they won’t have tank straps

It is on its way to Rotterdam for the 29th of June. Hopefully all on time for the KAT delivery in early to mid July

Think it’s the same one as they’ve kept it as the demo boat.
…..and yes don’t know anyone else who’s bought one.

Watching the video with the two sibs in view, certainly highlights the size difference. The kat looks very small against the Scout.

Yes does look small but more interesting though is how much better it rides than the Scout. Riding a tad bow high perhaps but he did have all kit and fuel at the stern. In comparison the Scout, which also had tank and kit well aft, rode seriously bow heavy. At planing speeds bow seemed to be sucked down low into the water, look how far forward the wake exits at the bow. Of course motor could be trimmed too far in as difficult to tell in vid.

2nd viewing and I see exactly what you mean.

I wonder if that is similar to what I experienced when I was down in Fowey -

https://www.rib.net/forum/f50/sib-trim-and-performance-90194.html

Useful being able to look at a sib from afar, but I think Diane may feel a drones a bit expensive for a one off observation though!

Interesting that Boatworld provided a shim that could not be used because of how far his engine fixings would open. He also said it was not needed on his set up. I wonder if the engine he was using will trim in more than my Tohatsu 9.8

Hopefully the shim is just a stop gap and the next batch get a couple of degrees layback to the transom. Appreciate not much help to those purchasing the current stock.
