New Boatworld Kat
Not been on here so much of late so I could have missed it but don't remember any mention of the new Boatworld Kat range for order now and delivery in May. 2.3m, 2.7m and 3.3m models. The 3.3 being £1350 inc launch wheels.
The floor apparently comes with a detachable fin to use as a paddle board. Looks interesting and seems it could be well build being a little heavier than our 0.5m longer Aerotec.
I just have a feeling Chipko should be buying one for his ever evolving experience of light sub 4m craft.

Ha Ha Mr F, and unfortunately already on my radar.
Pics look good with more than a passing Takacat resemblance, and cool livery. Just a shame there’s not a 3.8 in the line up.
Will be casting a weather eye on these at Boatlife later this week.

I have been looking at these as well,
More interested as a second boat for the caravan with it being advertised as folding up really small as I do struggle to get the t30 through the door. I have ot really looked at these boats is the performance much better than an air floor ?.
Good price with the wheels as well

Ahh do report back Chipko.
Matt I initially thought I'm not sure they could pack smaller than a T30 but actually with the floor and transom out I guess they roll up with just the two tubes and flap of floor material in the main pack... that could be really compact. Be interesting to see one packed up... perhaps Boatworld would like to do a demo for Chipko at the show??

Apologies
Should read T38, fat fingers, knackered eyes and a fair few glasses of wine whilst on holiday. I have the T38 pack down pretty much nailed but it really is a struggle too get through the door. Like the idea of the separate floor and maybe a bit more performance with the hull of the KAT. The weight of the two boats is about the same by the looks of it.

Oh well I'm sure this Kat model would pack way neater than a T38. We'll just have to wait for Chipko's report from his in the flesh inspection.

Quick update. Saw the KAT Sport 330 inthe flesh on the Boatworld stand today at BoatLife….bottom line, I want one!
Unashamedly a Takacat clone, which is in no way a bad thing, and all at a very competitive price. Prototype model at the show, hot off the container, and perhaps a bit rough round the edges in minor final details but potentially a very decent piece of kit. Plus points include fully welded main seams, open tubular ss. transom with included transom wheels, prv’s on sponsons, full length wide rubbing strips under tubes, cool colour scheme and all backed by a three year warranty from a proper UK bricks and mortar company who are excellent to deal with.
Negative observations perhaps worth noting…only one air chamber per sponson (as are Takacats in fairness at this length), logo’s could be revisited, and a few additional tie down points on the deck wouldn’t go amiss, say for fuel tank etc.
All in all, anyone after a sporty Kiwi style catamaran for a very reasonable outlay, I would recommend giving one of these serious consideration. Admittedly, only a visual inspection to date, but no reason to suggest these shouldn’t perform just like the Kiwi boats. After all what’s not to like about a boat with no bow and stern[emoji3]

It certainly bears a very close resemblance to the takacat. The transom tubes are very similar to the earlier style tubes. The larger models also come with a fin for use as a paddle board.
Fishing rod fittings much the same. The only noticeable difference I can see from pictures are the seats, which takacats lack.
The takacats have a strap and buckle which secures the air floor to the boat and acts as a painter, and can be used as a holding strap by crew. I can’t see that from the pictures on this boat.
If I get to s.B.s this year, I’d like to see one, to compare.

Thanks for the report... look forward to the on the water report when you have one delivered!
Boatworld must be congratulated in bringing some interesting SIBs to market at sensible prices... as you say add in the fact they are decent folks at a proper physical establishment and its win win really.
Now if only they could make an Aerotec in interesting colour options and selling under £1500...

Anyone taken the plunge yet ?
Just ordered a new box of flares as my old ones where out of date, and I let the kids let them off on bonfire night. In the package was the new boatworld catalogue and they do look great pieces of kit. I Reckon it will go well with my 15hp 2 stroke, doesn't seem to be anywhere to strap down the fuel tank though.
Regards
Matt

No, but will be putting one through its paces in the next month or two. Those nice guys at Boatworld have kindly agreed to let me borrow one for a few days.
Will be testing on the sea, hopefully including in a bit of surf, with lightweight 10 and 15hp motors. I’ll be posting a quick review on here and t’other channel.

Collected the demo Kat Sport 330 from those nice guys at Boatworld yesterday.
Weather and sea state permitting, hope to get some decent on water testing done over the next couple of weeks.
Big thanks to Boatworld for the loan of their new Kat.

Ha! Ha! Nice one Mr F, sadly more akin to under the influence methinks.
Anyway, little Kat unpacked and inflated this afternoon. Very straightforward, quick and easy with all components fitting well…reckon it’s less than a twenty minute job with a half decent pump once organised.
All looking pretty good thus far. Only comment would be motor looks a tad high even sat straight on transom. Might ventilate, might not, will find out tomorrow for its maiden voyage if the weather holds out.
