New boy needs Help

Hello Guys, I have just been given a Suzumar DS 265, so I am desperate to get it on the water, however this is my first boat and it has no outboard, the plate on the transom says it will take a 6kw engine which i believe will equate to 8hp (is this right?), secondly i will only get chance to use it maybe twice a month so dont really want to spend £1400 on a new honda outboard. Can i have some suggestions please as how best to get this beast on the water. Cheers

Try to get a 2 stroke - they are so much lighter.

Look on ebay and www.adtrader.co.uk

Make sure you get a short shaft.

thanks for the speedy reply, I just spoke to a chap at Extreme Marine who tells me a 8hp is too heavy and a 6hp is sufficient to get up on the plane, i should imagine these are both 4 stroke although i cant be sure.
