New sib

Hi all,

Took my new sib out in the solent last week and thought i would share some pictures.
My current set up is with a mariner 3.3 2 stroke outboard and i now realise i do need something more gutsy!

Looking on ebay and saw the following and need some advice on this outboard as my knowledge is very limited.

Thanks and look forward to your responses

Looks tidy enough but it would almost certainly need a new impeller and a damned good service if its been standing that long. Price is pretty steep for its age too. I got an identical engine on a 3.8 avon with trailer for only 200 more than that...

Nice looking boat. Whats its size / floor type / intended use?

Thanks for your reply.
Its a 3.2 meter air deck. Its my first boat and it seems to be pretty good but when I purchased it I could not get any info on them or find anyone who owns one. It would be interesting to compare it to a avon or a zodiac and see what the difference is.

I started of using it in a river but went on holiday to the isle of wight and got the urge to try it In the sea.
Great fun but do need a bit more power.

The ebay guy may have had it for 20 years, but it's older than that. Very much overpriced.

As Rik says, it'll need a full service inc impeller at least. Don't bother-you'd get better for less money and markedly newer and better for very little more.

Very nice set up there, them mariner 3.3s are the nuts, smashing little engines, but as you say for the solent you need more poke,as for the 15hp the geezer having a laugh i only just paid £300 and thats a 20hp with tank about the same age 1980s,as said look about you will get a better price
