Well you know it's made in Italy and all I can offer above that is that it is probably an old school style Hypalon SIB. Does it have a wooden keel?

Chuck up a pic of the whole thing if you can for interest.

I do have some other photos if I can find them.
Yes it's a wooden keel.
It has never been patched and holds air for a few days, but the valves look like they have had a diy repair done on them so am looking to replace them.as they do leak slightly.
Just would like to find out more about the brand and weather they had a good reputation.

Pretty well any older* Hypalon SIB will be good quality and have a far greater life than a modern PVC one. Not sure if you know about SIB materials but if you take a standard new SIB made of the usual PVC... and where the maker offers an upgrade option... the Hypalon version might be close to £1000 extra!

Many of them also have a keel that runs right to the transom and will give slightly better sea ability than the standard SIB inflatable keel which flattens towards the transom.

If you Google Novurania they have now mostly moved onto high class stylish tenders to larger craft.... not sure they make SIBs any more.

So if it needs it give yours a clean, varnish the transom, keel & floorboards (assuming they are wood too). Overhaul the valves** and you will have something classic/interesting that will last years for bargain money (I assume it was cheap).

Do you have an outboard for it?

*When I say older I remember seeing this brand (very rarely though) in the 60s when I was a kid.

**If you put up a pic of the valves we can help with how to service/replace them.

It was £180 from memory.
Will give it a clean and will post my progress with it.
I do have a old 6hp 2stroke and a old 8hp 2stroke.both need a bit of love. But may look for a 9.9hp which would probably suit it better. Will be used for a bit of sea fishing and maybe pottering on the river on a nice day.

What's leaking? You know they should pass a small amount of air until the cap is on which is the final seal? Do they still leak with the cap on?

Did you happen to notice my thread http://www.rib.net/forum/f50/hutchin...buy-75797.html where in post #11 I mentioned turning over the diaphragms in my valves which cured excess leak by.

Mine were easy as there was a screw to remove the rubber. Yours looks to have a brass pin... wonder if this will press out? The other thing is your diaphragm rubbers look too crudely cut to be original and perhaps made from too rigid material?

If you can get the central pin out to release them perhaps you can find a valve rubber to suit even if not the correct one... such as the drain flap rubber Jeff mentions a couple of posts down in my thread.

What provides the seal for the final cap... O-ring or something else?

we call them mushroom valves used in commercial diving hats same thing as in fuel pumps on outboards although they are smaller.
it would be easy to get a punch and punch out the centre to the correct size i suspect in your case it's a push fit [tight] over the centre brass pin agree the flat seal is a rough cut there might be some large tap washers that fit worth having a look round. stick some dimensions up might be some plumbers on here
