[QUOTE:=chipko;862862]I think you might find the biggest difference between these is the Defender X-Pro has a deeper V and takes a longshaft motor.[/QUOTE]

Yes I realised this chippo, guna make the sacrifice for this and sell my short shaft for now. Like the idea of the deeper hull for those days when the wind and tide are against us 👍🏻👌🏼

Anyway it’s going to be really interesting to hear how Jenks gets on with this outfit. Look forward to his feedback.

Will update you all once I’ve tried and tested, it’s arriving in the country end of may so I should have it pretty soonish after that. Coming from France so hopefully they will let it in 😝

That’s what I’ve asked to speed the process up, bit of discount on a used boat then 🤪 break the engine in on route, perfect hahaha

Update on the new 3d xpro defender 390. Pretty much finished breaking the engine in, very well made rib which is light and performed incredible on the water. Very stable and cuts through chop. I have a new 20 tohatsu on the back and was hitting 20 knots alone with just over half throttle so should expect about 25knots I’d imagine alone. Launching is nice and easy, especially with the roller trailer and being able to just winch it on. First time having a rib so can’t really comment much more or compare it to anything else but for me it’s spot on. Maybe raise the engine a little next trip to see if can get it to perform any better then can bolt the the engine on. Also nice wide deep platform, perfect for the fishing.

Thanks for all the replies and food for thought , it's good to get all views , because I lived in Stevenage and I had a searider this boat has only been in the water less than 30 hours would be my guess and always washed off ,I bought a second 380 because it had the 25 and steering for this one , the other 380 I did a floor repair (all advised by nasher ) and sold it as a boat ,now I live in Devon considering whether to sell this and get a small moored boat , or get this in the water again , this boat hasnt been used in the last 14 years at least , just packed and stored in my gym , as im getting older , don't fancy the inflating and assembly be knackered before I get it in the water lol ,

Here’s the only photo of the first time getting her wet, little bit of anxiety as the last two boats were so bad I was praying she was going to be good haha

Looking good. Always great when you get the boat choice right. Took us about 6yrs and as many SIBs before we found our personal sweet spot and in the 8yrs since haven't needed to swap any more.

Yes fenlander, it is very satisfying. Could probably go bigger in the future but realistically for my fishing and beach hoping needs it’s perfect. Just waiting for the tube ladder and it will be perfect 👌🏼

What have you finally settled with after all these years?

If you add a console later you will find that your boat actually feels like a bigger boat. The difference between tiller steering & remotes on a console is night & day even on the same boat
