New Sibber

Hi all, I have been lurking for a while and found this site a great source of information.

I did not even know what a SIB was until I stumbled accross this forum whilst looking at the man RIB site.

I wanted a small boat for fishing, easy to launchs and tow behind my VW camper. I could not justify a small RIB as I know I will not get a lot of use and dont want high running costs.

So with the benfit your collective knowlege I took the plunge. Now the pleased owner of a 2010 Honwave 4m aluminum floor, 2010 Evinrude 25hp E-Tec and extreme trailer.

Had her maiden voyage last week end great fun.

Got a few questions so see you in the forum

Andy

Welcome Andy, as Peter says a lovely set-up - should imagine that Honwave with a 25 E-Tec is very rapid and great fun.

Hello Andy. Perhaps you've read my recent review of my newly purchased Honwave T35 (Mariner 15hp). I'd wondered about the T40 but it was just a bit too large/heavy for carrying in the car and daily inflation plus it really cried out for a larger outboard which would have added to my transport problems. Really pleased with the Honwave design though.

Max , Fenlander

The E-Tech is a bit of a heave lump at 66kg, my original plan was a Honday 20hp but the right deal never came along.

Can mangage the engine in car / trolley / boat, just about on my own , easier with two.

The boat went well, did not GSP the speed, I did think I would be faster.

I started to experiment with trim, as a big guy with heavy 25hp was worried with stern heavy boat. My passanger was sitting in the bow as trim. I tried the engine one trim hole out at the end of my session and this seemed to increase the speed.

I am looking a a tiller extention so I can sit more towards the middel and guess if i can get out again soon more experimentation needed and GPS speed check

Great fun though and impressed with Honda quality, looked at other boats quicksliver nearly twice the price, zodiac over three times the price, are these realy twice , three times the qulaity?

>>>made by Sun Inflatables in China

Indeed which probably explains the consistent quality far in excess (sadly I have to say) of others made closer to home I've experienced recently.

In the same way that just taking items within reach of this keyboard... my HP monitor, Netgear router, Revo DAB radio, Toshiba laptop, Seagate external hard drive and X-Box are all similarly made in China!
