Great pictures. I will be down there in 3 weeks.

The Pandora Inn is worth a visit.....or the hidden hut if you have one more day left.

Hello RIBnet!

Looking at that little video your boat seems to go very well with that little 6hp

I've been pleasantly surprised at how easy these boats pop onto the plane using so little throttle. I've also been surprised at the amount of wake they make off the plane.

Hi James, it takes some very precise balancing to get us on the plane at a top speed of 10 knots with two of us in the boat.

With my sister sat right in the bow on the floor rather than on the seat, or with my camera bag at the transom rather than in the middle, we fall off the plane very easily. But having had the boat for a short while, I now know how to balance it and listen to the motor when it “wants” to get into its optimum RPM range, even though we’re not going very fast. The tachometer really helps with this. Of course with just me on the boat it flies along with the 6HP.

Sometimes we’ll be going along and I’ll think “are we actually on the plane?”, then I look behind me and as Tim says, the wake is so small which is the giveaway. At displacement speeds there’s a huge pile of water following the boat.

I keep meaning to try raising the outboard an inch… the cav plate is a little too low below the bottom of the boat (a troubleshooting topic well covered on this form, particularly with higher power ob’s), and I want to see if lifting it reduces drag enough to make any real difference.

How do you embed the YouTube video into the post, rather than just seeing a link? I’m assuming you can only do that from the website, not the app?

You have to use the YouTube url from a desktop browser and also not the mobile friendly m.youtube.com url or the youtu.be url.

You can easily try this but on marginal planing conditons a hydrofoil will help tremendously.

I have wondered about hydrofoils. Another one for down the line, not sure I fancy drilling the cav plate to fit one just yet… not sure how good the ones are that don’t require drilling?

I would have answered the same as Limecc - , I just end up messing around until it's in there, and can never remember how the hell I did it so end up messing about again next time!

So would I be correct in thinking that pictures can be imbeded within text in the app and not on the website, but a YouTube video can only be embedded on the website and not in the app?

Can’t help you there Steve, I never use the website, just the app! But I managed to get the correct YouTube video link from my phone web browser by selecting “request desktop site” and copying the url when the page reloaded.

Hi all, long time!

Finally out again, Pip has been on tender duty over the Jubilee weekend in Cowes, visiting a friend’s lovely 30’ Elizabethan. Weather was fab, we left just as it turned on Saturday.

Super easy launching from the Folly Inn on the Medina.

New transom wheel tyres fitted for this season - bit pricey and still pneumatic but a good bit beefier than the “default” ones. But Lordy they were a pain in the butt to swap out…

Boat still performing well, Suzuki DF6A didn’t miss a beat, very happy [emoji106]

Hi PK, thought you'd disappeared of the face of the earth! Bet it was good to get back out again.
Looks like you had some good weather.
