Newb question - will this floor fit our RIB?

Hi all,

Total newb to this and really asking the question because my other half probably wouldn't get around to it I hope I'm asking in the right forum.

We recently aquired a Zodiac Futura MkIII 15 footer in need of a few puncture repairs and without a floor. We have a couple of boat-building friends who could probably knock something together for us (if we can find a template), but then I spotted this on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123

I think it's probably a bit on the small side, but as I say I'm new to this and wondered if someone here could advise as to whether the floor would be suitable for our rib?

Although I'm based in Weymouth, Dorset and am miles away for being able to collect the floor, by happy coincidence my parents are going to visit my sister in suffolk this weekend and could take a detour to collect it for us if it was suitable.

Hope someone here can advise!

thanks all
Moogie

I think you need to find out exactly which model it's from, and exactly what size/model boat you have. If the 2 aren't the same, forget it. It won't stay in.

Thanks for the reply. I had emailed the seller to see if it would suit our rib and he suggested we ask here.

Our is 15ft which is just under 4.6m, so I guess I should ask the seller if the 4.2 measurement given is the rib size or size of the floor itself.

It's probably a no-go, but I couldn't help but get excited when a Futura floor turned up on Ebay just a week or so after we got one without a floor

Think you will find its the complete length, width is the same for the 4.2m and the 3.8 futura.

The extrusions and dimensions look correct, and the black blocking looks correct, but the yellow looks odd and the rear piece is also strange. It looks like the proper rear section is missing, as it should mirror the front square one, and have a matching black block. There are no holes in the front for access to the valves. Its a bit weird but you could probably make it fit IF the width is correct. The floor is integral to the boat. It must fit perfectly.
you also need 2 aluminum stringers to tie it all together, They are triangular (in section) with a groove up the side, matching the profile of that black block on the left.

OK I looked again. They're laid out in the wrong order. Rear piece should be at front, behind triangular one. It has a hole. Mine has 3. Blocks are there too. Text says he has stingers. Looks OK! Make sure its for your model boat. If so, you're good to go.

I have a 2001 Mk III Futura. Your year is the last 2 digits of your ser. #, outside of transom. I don't know if there's variation year to year. My floor is approximately 11 ft end to end. My stringers are 56 1/2" long. The tie down mounting track on each floor panel is 26 3/4 long. The width is 34 1/8, track to track on the inside.
